Moon
HISTORY
Moon, was wild orphaned and discovered along with his sibling Kuma, by a Reno resident. Their mother had been hit by a car, leaving the two small kittens behind. This individual took in the two bobcats but kept them for four and a half months before finally surrendering them to the Department of Wildlife. Already too tame to be considered for release, they contacted Safe Haven for placement. Despite being siblings, they fought continuously and seriously enough, that they had to be separated. Moon, was introduced to Bellamy and Pogo, who absolutely adore him.
ABOUT BOBCATS
Bobcats can be found throughout most the US and can live up to 15 years in the wild and up to 30 in captivity. Although generally solitary in the wild, female bobcats have been known to share overlapping territory. Although not considered endangered, they commonly fall victim to hunting and trapping due to their fine furs.
